AIRPORT POLICE CAPTAIN

Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Airport Police Division, located at 1 International Sq. Normal Work Days/Hours: Varies based on operational needs, Mandatory Overtime may be required.
• Enforces Federal, State and local laws with respect to City Ordinances, TSA Mandates, and Missouri state statutes. • Serves as commanding officer of a shift, monitoring and regulating assignments. • Ensures the observance of high ethical standards of personnel under his/her supervision. • Promotes and maintains lines of communication from top management down to all subordinates and upward from the line personnel to top management. • Responds to requests for police assistance from airport tenants, concessionaires and the public. • Conducts formal performance appraisals of Airport Police Sergeants in order to inform them of their productivity and efficiency.
REQUIRES two years of experience as a skilled worker in building and mechanical repair work in a relevant trade (HVAC, boilers, hydraulics, pumps and motors etc.). An additional related technical education certificate or diploma may be substituted for one year experience. Must possess a valid State –issued driver’s license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. May be required to obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Class A, B, or C issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee’s probationary period. (Appropriate CDL will be determined by the department). Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
Salary Starting at: $5,794/month
