RECORDS CLERK I

The Records Clerk I is a non-exempt hourly position that performs specialized clerical and administrative work involving the processing, maintenance, and security of police records and reports. This position ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding the handling, release, and retention of law enforcement documents and information. The Records Clerk supports police operations and maintains the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive records while providing professional service to both internal and external customers.

Education and Experience:

-High school diploma or equivalent required.

-Two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience, preferably in a law enforcement or government setting.

-Experience with records management or criminal justice databases preferred.

License or Certificate:

-Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid ALERT Certification.

-Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid MULES/NCIC Certification.
