Position Summary: Responsible for the daily operations in the Police Supply Room. Responsible for stocking and maintaining equipment, uniforms, safety gear, and general office supplies. Assists internal customers with uniform and supply needs. Works with vendors to obtain pricing information, places orders for uniforms and equipment, and processes invoices. Creates internal order forms for personnel to request specific uniforms and supplies. Maintains multiple inventories and accounting systems. Processes deliveries to and from the department. Performs general clerical, administrative duties and other department activities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Three to four years of progressively responsible related experience or any combination of education, training and experience which provides required knowledge. Knowledge of basic budget and accounting principles and practices. Experience in general office procedures, computer equipment and inventory controls. Knowledge of Word and Excel a must. Good oral and written communication skills and ability to prepare clear concise reports and correspondence. Ability to meet deadlines, keep track of multiple inventories, and work with minimal supervision.
Physical Working Conditions: Hand dexterity for office machine operation. Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and climb a three-step ladder. Required to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 lbs. with a dolly/cart.
Typical Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
Additional Requirements: Requires valid driver’s license, drug testing and a comprehensive background check, including a polygraph and psychological. Must complete NIMS training within the first six (6) months of hiring.
