Job Description:
The Public Works team is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Professional Assistant to support the Fleet and Street Divisions. This role provides essential administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations, timely response to inquiries, and accurate documentation for internal and external reporting needs.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) requests
Perform data entry, including work orders and tracking supplies/materials
Assist with monitoring division budgets and reviewing financial documentation
Process Visa receipts and accounts payable items
Answer inquiries from residents and provide customer service support
Tracks record retention and disposal
Prepare and process payroll for assigned divisions
Facilitate and participate in meetings, training, and other department functions
Assist with the coordination of Public Works events
Support Workday tasks and submissions
Provide administrative support to the Fleet and Street teams
Maintains inventories of office supplies and reorders supplies as necessary
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate degree in a field related to the area of responsibility and three years of progressively responsible administrative support experience in the area of assignment; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent oral and written communication skills.
