Title: Seasonal Worker V - Head Camp Counselor
Location: Blue Springs, MO.
Grade: 099NM
Salary: $18.00/hour
Job Duties:
- Responsible for supervising and coaching all camp counselors, providing visibility and access to staff throughout the day.
- Responsible for correcting camper conflict when unit counselors are unable to, following camp policies and procedures.
- Responsible for assisting with staff training and staff scheduling.
- Communicate issues relating to staff to Camp Director.
- Assist in coordination of daily programming, curriculum writing, first aid materials, medications.
- Serve as point-person on field trips.
- Set the example for counselors in professionalism, enthusiasm, and engagement with campers and approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and organization skills.
- Knowledge of youth development and previous experience working in a camp setting.
- Must attend training week plus work all 10 weeks that camp is open for the summer (40 hours a week).
- First aid/adult and child CPR certification is required prior to start of camp.
- Lifeguard certification desired.
- Must submit to/pass pre-employment drug screen/background check.
