Title: Seasonal Worker III - Camp Counselor
Location: Blue Springs, MO - Kemper Outdoor Education Center
Grade: 099NM
Salary: $16.00/hour
Job Duties:
- Work with a group of campers to provide a fun, safe, and exciting camp experience.
- Respond to incidents such as behavior problems or accidents according to camp policies and procedures.
- Document events and maintain records, discuss concerns with parents when needed.
- Report issues to Head Counselor.
- Act as a constant encourager and role model for campers.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for most of the camp day.
- Preferred experience working in a youth-focused setting.
- Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities.
- Must attend training week plus work all 10 weeks that camp is open for the summer (40 hours a week).
- First aid/adult and child CPR certification is required prior to start of camp.
- Lifeguard certification desired.
- Must have completed High School or GED.
- Must submit to/pass pre-employment drug screen/background check.
