EOE Employment at LSPR guarantees the opportunity to learn communication and organizational skills, professionalism, and civic responsibility while building outstanding personal and work relationships. $22.70/hourly Responsible for operation of the first aid room at Harris Park Community Center during Camp Summit program, including evaluating camp participants’ need for medical intervention, application of basic first aid services, and administering of medication as authorized by parents/guardians. This position will be working late-May – August 7, hours vary. This position will be scheduled for 40 hours a week working generally 8a-4p, applicant should be flexible. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Perform basic first aid to camp participants; provide care for injured and ill camp participants; assess and evaluates camp participants’ conditions, contact parents/guardians as appropriate; determine whether emergency medical assistance is needed and contact Lee’s Summit Fire Department as appropriate. Maintain comprehensive, accurate records/logs related to First Aid room and camp participants and complete incident reports daily. Communicate with LSPR management staff and parents regarding camp participants’ injuries, conditions and needs. Administer medication to camp participants with proper authorization paperwork from parent/guardian; maintain records of medication administration. Prepare medication distribution by Managers in Nurses absence as applicable. Maintain valid licensure/certifications and comply with all professional laws and regulations applicable to employee based upon certification. Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to ensure the safety of camp participants and the adherence to applicable LSPR rules and regulations. Attend staff meetings as directed. Minimum Qualifications: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or higher certification (i.e. RN, BSN, etc.) required; and, Must be at least 18 years of age; and, Basic first aid, CPR and AED certification required.
