Department: Corrections

Grade: 200

Salary: $31.45/hour

Job Duties:

Responsible for the coordination and control of inmate security and activities in a designated area within the detention center.
Responsible for implementing policies and procedures; monitoring the performance of Corrections Officers; and recommending appropriate disciplinary actions; remaining alert to inmate and/or staff concerns and resolving those issues within the associate's range of authority.
Responsible for reviewing and completing all documentation involving floor operations and associates in an assigned area; training new Corrections Officers to develop the skills of established officers; evaluating the job performance of Probationary Corrections Officers

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Three years of experience working in Corrections or Law Enforcement.
Completed and passed the Jail Academy Exam.
Passed and maintained firearms qualification.
Received at least a "Meets Expectations" current performance evaluation.
Must be at least 20 years old.
Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
Must possess/maintain an active telephone in his/her residence and be available to work weekends and evenings.
Must possess/maintain valid Missouri or Kansas Driver's License.
Must submit to and pass a police background check, drug screen, motor vehicle record check.
