Clay County is seeking dependable and compassionate individuals to join our Juvenile Group Home team. The Youth Specialist provides supervision, guidance, and support to youth residents, helping them develop positive daily living, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise residents and coordinate daily routines and activities.
- Provide positive guidance, structure, and leadership.
- Assist with meals, household responsibilities, and schoolwork.
- Transport residents to school, appointments, and scheduled activities.
- Administer medications according to established procedures.
- Complete shift notes, progress notes, point sheets, and other required documentation.
- Build positive relationships with residents and teach problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Participate in required meetings and training, including CPR and physical restraint techniques.
- Comply with PREA requirements and departmental policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Youth Specialist: High school diploma or equivalent.
Deputy Juvenile Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related human services field.
- Valid driver’s license and liability insurance required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with youth, families, and team members.
Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available, with day and evening shifts based on availability.
