Job Description: The Public Works Engineering team is seeking a skilled Professional ProgramAssistant to support stormwater compliance and program coordination activities. This role will facilitate communication among contractors, engineering staff, and the public, while ensuring that field activities align with environmental and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate field activities with contractors, engineering staff, and members of the public.
Conduct reviews and inspections of stormwater infrastructure, erosion and sediment control measures, pollution reports, and other MS4 compliance-related activities.
Document and communicate inspection findings through various reporting methods and software platforms.
Review complaints and inquiries, assigning service requests and entering accurate work order logs.
Provide technical support to contractors, residents, and staff regarding street and storm sewer maintenance and compliance efforts.
Maintain databases, file records, and communication logs for improved organization and accessibility.
Analyze field activities and program processes, making recommendations for improvement to the County Engineer.
Demonstrated knowledge in environmental studies, stormwater management, and MS4 compliance.
Proficiency with spatial mapping tools and related software platforms.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and public interaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of related program experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above. Two years post-high school education in a related field and applicable certifications preferred. Preferred experience includes knowledge of hydrology, storm sewer systems, construction inspection, engineering design development, and construction methodology. Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and public interaction, and excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records and databases.
Salary Range:
$21.22 - $27.75/hr.
