The Finance Director reports to the City Administrator and provides leadership, direction, and business decision support regarding the financial and operational performance of the City of Riverside. This position supervises an Accounts Payable/Payroll Clerk. Primary responsibilities include budgeting, accounting and financial management, reporting and auditing, financial planning, investment and debt management, compliance, and employee supervision.
Education/Training/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fields is required.
- Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred, but not required.
- Certified Public Finance Officer designation preferred, but not required.
- Must have 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, with public finance experience preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of combined experience in accounting management, general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll management experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory capacity required.
