All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.
The Summer Employment Program begins approximately May 1, 2026, and lasts approximately 7 to 12 weeks.
Job Description:
Recreation Leaders actively supervise and engage in activities with youth enrolled in UGPRD Summer Camp sessions. They are responsible for leading various activites throughout the day under the guidance of the Recreation Instructor. They ensure that the right equipment is on hand for all activities, Meets and greets participants, and answers any questions their parents may have about the activities for the day. Applicants should have the knowledge of a variety of different sports, crafts and activities, enjoy helping the youth develop physically, mentally, and socially. Work environment may be indoors in gymnasiums or outdoors on sporting fields. The workload can be physically demanding whenever they are involved with leading athletic activities. Must be punctual and timely in all requirements of performance.
Qualifications:
Must be a minimum of 16 years old and must be available to work an 8-hour shift between the following hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Desired applicant has the ability to lead a group in activity, good character, adaptability, enthusiasm, patience and self-control.
