Aviation Department – Airport Police Division
Work Location: 1 Kansas City Blvd.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

What You’ll Do:
•Leads and manages the Airport Security Division and serves as the airport's primary Airport Security Coordinator (ASC).
•Ensures airport security operations meet the requirements of 49 CFR Part 1542, the Airport Security Program (ASP), TSA Security Directives, and other applicable requirements.
•Directs Airport ID/Badging Office operations, SIDA credentialing, access control, and associated security systems.
•Manages and maintains the Airport Security Program and associated security policies, procedures, plans, and controlled documents.
•Oversee security assessments, inspections, audits, testing, vulnerability reviews, and corrective actions.
•Direct and coordinates investigations involving security breaches, violations, and other aviation security incidents.
•Serves as the primary liaison with TSA and coordinates responses to inspections, findings, investigations, and requests for information.
•Provides aviation security guidance and support to airport management, employees, airlines, tenants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
•Coordinates with Airport Police, TSA, federal and local law enforcement agencies, and other partners on security matters and incidents.
•Evaluates changes in regulations, airport operations, facilities, and security threats and implements necessary updates to security programs and procedures.
•Develops and maintains strategic relationships with TSA, airlines, tenants, law enforcement agencies, airport departments, and other key stakeholders.
•Provides leadership and direction to Security Division personnel and establishes effective management controls, performance expectations, and operational priorities.
•Maintains the availability required of the primary ASC and provides leadership and coordination during significant security incidents and events.
•Must be available for TSA 24/7.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRES:
•Accredited Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience managing a division, section, or program within airport operations, airport regulatory compliance, or oversight of building and/or construction operations at an airport OR
•High school diploma or equivalent and nine (9) years of experience managing a division, section, or program within airport operations, airport regulatory compliance, or oversight of building and/or construction operations at an airport
•Successful completion of a TSA criminal history check and pre-employment drug screen.
•Must pass a background check as prescribed by the City.
•Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
•May be required to successfully obtain and maintain an MCI Issued AOA Movement Area Badge with driving privileges.
•May be required to obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A, B, or C issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee's probationary period. (Appropriate CDL will be determined by the department).
Preference: Possess an Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) Certification as award by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
