Reads water meters on assigned route and records data into hand-held computer to provide information for utility billing or other related action. Inspects, maintains, and replaces water meters, meter wells and associated equipment. Responds to customer service requests and handles complaints. Pay: $19.44 per hour Minimum Qualifications: High School Graduation or equivalent required. Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and acceptable driving record required One year of experience with field service or equivalent related experience involving customer service. Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of municipal water system operations. Knowledge of safety procedures for confined space. Effective communication and customer service skills. Skilled in the safe operation of motor vehicle. Ability to accurately read and record data from meter dials. Ability to read maps and follow a prescribed route and schedule. Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and water pumps. Ability to work independently and follow direction. Ability to operate a meter reading data collection device and customer information system.
