JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Utility Clerk is responsible for providing operational support across all clerical classifications within the bargaining unit, including Civil Clerks, Warrants Clerks, Tax Sale Clerk, Mailroom Clerks, and other comparable positions.
This position must maintain working knowledge of the duties, responsibilities, and procedures of each assigned classification and possess the ability to perform those functions as directed when positions are temporarily or permanently vacated. Coverage assignments will be made at the direction of the Sheriff or designated supervisor.
The Utility Clerk must be available to work varying hours, shifts, and days when operational needs require coverage outside of the standard Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in the use of general office equipment, including fax machines, photocopiers, printers, and personal computers.
Demonstrated mastery of duties associated with Civil Clerk, Warrants Clerk, Tax Sale Clerk, Mailroom Clerk, and other related clerical positions within the unit.
Working knowledge of Court, legal, and jail management computer systems, as well as bond accounting procedures.
Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.
$23.19 per hour
