The Seasonal Laborer is responsible for operating a mower tractor with wing movers and boom mower, running power tools, and using hand tools. Also responsible for supplying material to crews, daily maintenance on tractor and mowers and performing flagging duties on road projects and needed. Works under limited supervision.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates a mower tractor with wing mowers and boom mower to mow grass and weeds.
- Trims and clears foliage and brush.
- Clears refuse, blockages, and debris from roadside.
- Performs maintenance work on culverts and bridges including removal and replacement of timber bridge planks, the repair and/or removal and replacement of guardrails, the repair of concrete and steel components, and the repair of scour areas.
- Performs maintenance work on traffic control devices on the county road system including the repair or replacement of road signs, assists in inventory control and the removal of sight obstructions.
Position Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1-3 years of experience generally preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Knowledge:
- Computer software programs and applications such as MS Office.
- County and/or city government administration.
- Knowledge of road, bridge and right of way activities.
- Operating procedures for all equipment assigned.
