Aviation Department
Location: 154 Tokyo St. Salary Range: $22.61–$34.48 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00a.m.-3:30p.m. (Mandatory overtime may be required during inclement weather and emergencies)

• Assist in concrete and asphalt repairs to streets, sidewalks, parking lots, and airfield aprons, taxiways, and runways
• Assist in the repair of chain link fencing, barbed wire, mesh, and snow fencing; fabricate fence gates and metal security grates
• Assist with mowing and landscaping work on either the street side or the airfield
• Pick up trash from streets, parking lots, and turf areas
• Operate a variety of motorized equipment, from small to large pieces of equipment, including tractors, mowers, dump trucks, and loaders
• Operate and maintain snow equipment
• Operate two-way radios to communicate with the FAA control tower and coworkers
• Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRES:
• Two (2) years of experience as a skilled worker in building and mechanical repair work in a relevant trade (HVAC, boilers, hydraulics, pumps and motors etc.).
• An additional related technical education certificate or diploma may be substituted for one year experience.
• Must possess a valid State –issued driver’s license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
• May be required to obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Class A, B, or C issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee’s probationary period.(Appropriate CDL will be determined by the department). Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English via 2-way radio.
• Must Pass 10-year TSA Background Check.
• Must Obtain Class A CDL prior to end of probationary period.
