Aviation Department – Field Maintenance Division Location:
154 Tokyo St
Schedule: 7:00a.m.-3:30p.m. with Mandatory Overtime during inclement weather and emergencies.

What You’ll Do:
• Assists in concrete and asphalt repairs to streets, sidewalks, parking lots and airfield aprons, taxiways and runways.
• Assists in the repair of chain link fencing, barbed wire, mesh, snow fencing; fabricates fence gates and metal security grates.
• Assists with mowing and landscaping work on either the street side or the airfield.
• Pick up trash from streets, parking lots, and turf areas.
• Operates a variety of motorized equipment from small to large pieces of equipment, tractors, mowers, dump trucks, loaders, etc.
• The person in this position must be available day or night during snow season for emergency snow removal events.
• Operates and maintains snow equipment.
• Operates two-way radios to communicate with the FAA control tower and coworkers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRES:
• Completion of a trade school or a shop training program;
• OR 6 months experience in general maintenance and repair work.
• Ability to pass 10-year TSA Background Check.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to random alcohol and drug testing.
• Must successfully obtain and maintain a Kansas City Aviation Department-issued AOA Movement Area badge with driving privileges.
• Must pass a 10 year federal fingerprint-based criminal history background check.
• Must be available for recall during non-duty hours for emergencies, snow removal, or other critical operational needs.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A - Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) prior to the completion of 6-month probationary period.
