Aviation Department - Information Technology Division

Work Days and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

• Administers physical and virtual servers, including Windows Server and other applicable server platforms.
• Installs, configures, maintains, and upgrades servers, operating systems, and related software.
• Monitors server performance, availability, capacity, and system health and takes corrective action when issues are identified.
• Troubleshoots hardware, operating system, application, storage, and network-related server issues.
• Manages Active Directory, user accounts, security groups, permissions, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other related services.
• Maintains server security, including patching, updates, antivirus/endpoint protection, access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
• Performs system backups, verifies backup integrity, and supports data recovery and disaster recovery activities.
• Develops, maintains, and tests server recovery procedures as part of the Department’s Disaster Recovery Plan.
• Manages server storage, file services, system resources, and capacity planning.
• Works with network, cybersecurity, application, and other IT staff to resolve complex technical issues and maintain reliable services.
• Provides technical support for critical applications and infrastructure hosted on Department virtual environment.
• Maintains accurate documentation of server configurations, network connections, system dependencies, licenses, and recovery procedures.
• Participates in technology projects, system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Evaluates new technologies and recommends improvements to increase reliability, security, efficiency, and performance.
• Responds to system outages, emergencies, and other critical incidents and provides after-hours support when required.
• Coordinates with vendors and contractors for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of server-related equipment and services.
• Ensures IT assets are properly maintained, secured, inventoried, and managed throughout their lifecycle.
• Follows Department policies, procedures, cybersecurity requirements, safety practices, and applicable standards.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRES:
• An accredited Bachelor's degree and 4 years of technology experience OR an equivalent combination of education and technology experience.
• Must pass 10-years TSA Background Check.
• Must Possess valid Driver License.
• Preference given to candidates with experience administering enterprise-level server environments, VMware or other virtualization platforms, Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP, enterprise backup and disaster recovery systems, PowerShell or other scripting/automation tools, working in a aviation, or other critical infrastructure environment, possess relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Windows Server, and VMware certifications.
